Ultrasound, Late Birthday Dinner, and Baby Shower

How’s that for a blog title?

I am so pumped to tell you guys about the weekend! It was a BLAST!

Rewind to Saturday.

Mom and I got a pedicure to start off our day then I left and got a manicure for my shower.

With little blue foot prints :)

Then I ran home to grab Brandon and we were off to a 4D ultrasound. Our child is beyond stubborn. Have I told you that yet? At the last ultrasound he had his foot in his face the entire time. Well this one was no better.  He chose to surround his face with his knees, feet, and hands!

Good grief child!

Doesn’t he look like he’s pouting? Stubborn, I told ya.

The place we went to was gracious enough to give us a rain check to come a different day so we’re going again on Wednesday. It will be our last ultrasound before he gets here, unless something happens to go wrong, so I’ll definitely be soaking up any time we can get seeing him :)

After the ultrasound, Brandon took me out for a late birthday celebration dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Cooper’s Hawk. Obviously I wasn’t dining on any wine but the food is still amazing.

We started off with the calamari.

It’s all rings, which is the only way I think it should be served, and it’s different from anywhere else because it’s tossed in a mango chili sauce and topped with spicy mayo. Really, you must try it.

For my entree, I had the horseradish and parmesan-crusted filet medallions.

Brandon and I joked about the veggie. As soon as they sat the plate down, I was like “um.. where’s the rest of my asparagus?” I guess it’s too expensive to give you a bigger serving but both of us can polish off a whole bag of frozen asparagus in one sitting.

They also brought me a chocolate covered strawberry and a white chocolate truffle for my birthday. I forgot to take a picture but it came along side a dollop of I’m guessing homemade whipped cream. It was to. die. for. I could have eaten a bowl of that alone.

Sunday

Baby shower day!!

I have to start this by saying how incredibly blessed we are for our friends and family.

Gavin is beyond spoiled.

We got lots of presents, TONS of clothes, and almost everything we need to get this party started ;)

I mean really, the kids got more clothes than I do and he’s not even here yet lol!

If you brought diapers to the party, you were entered into a drawing to win a door prize and Brandon had a diaper party going on at the same time (ya know, to entertain the boys) so we got a pretty good stock pile started.

We just need to buy a lot of wipes now. Does anyone have a preference on their favorite brand?

There were some really funny gifts.

Yup, that’s what you think it is! ;) Thanks Aunt Alannah!

And there were some really adorable and thoughtful gifts.

Brandon’s aunt and cousins put together this basket of goodies and each item had an explanation with something related to having a baby. It was so cute!

All in all we had a really great day!

We are very grateful for everyone who came to celebrate with us and for anyone that couldn’t make it, thank you so much for sending us a gift! We appreciate each and every one of them!

xoxo
